Fon, the hotspot network coming from Spain, has officially launched its Fonera, a custom WiFi router that costs just $5/€5. With 2 wireless network signals, the device looks very promising, offering a private channel for domestic network usage and a public that Fon members could monetize or share for free.

Recently, Fon claims to top the 20,000 activated access points milestone for around 93,000 registered users worldwide. Skype and Google are among companies who invested in the WiFi network.
