A concept cellphone turns your hand into a touchpad

Have you realized your hand has 12 finger joints? No? At least, Sunman Kwon did it for you. And the designer used the observation to create a finger touching wearable concept mobile phone. The device is awesomely lightweight as it looks like a strap that users would put on one thumb and projects the twelve buttons of a touch pad on finger joints.
Human hand is the most basic and intuitive communication method, asserts Yanko Design. We kind of disagree, or we must be that hand stupid. But the concept phone is interesting in which it pioneers into projected screen displays, a technology that would certainly be integrated into future cellphones. And as it goes, the Kwon’s concept would use a two-time process. First, the touch pad is projcted to make a phone call, then disappear to be replaced by a projected screen display. (via textually)

Well, basically this is nothing new. Check this http://marisil.com/ web site. These guys have also a paten on their invention and they are having some cool videos. They also seem to work on some open source project to allow implementation for various hardwares. Augmented Reality here we come. And if Sunman Kwon would have bother to check it, he would have found that there is quite much literature on the scholar.google.com about this interaction and quite much research.
