‘Touch-and-play’ could be the Microsoft new line of licensed product within a couple of years. The software maker has invested in Eon Reality, a California startup developing 3D displays TouchLight that people can interact with their bare fingers.
“Within the next two years, EON estimates that the technology will be used in stores to facilitate advanced shopping experiences and interactive technical support with products and assemblies appearing to float in the air during interaction,” Eon says in a statement.
Even better, “EON estimates that within the next 24 to 36 months this technology could be affordable enough for desktops.” By that time, video conferencing would be as real as in Starwars. Or just imagine how would be your video gamer experience.
