Dell WiFi cards reach 600 Mbps

The WiFi 802.11N protocol is a draft. But some wireless device manufacturers take it for granted and starts selling WiFi-N routers and cards as part of the wireless technology that can top Ethernet bandwidth. Some still try to correct what they called its lacks.

Dell always watched this expert battle with a distant interest. But now, it entered the discussion, backing the pro WiFi-N draft group. “The Dell Wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n dual-band wireless card is available now for all Dell XPS mobile systems and select Inspiron notebooks.” says a press release issued by the company itself.

“The Dell Wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n wireless card, priced at $59, features a next-generation wireless technology based on the 1.0 draft of the IEEE 802.11n specification.”

The Dell’s decision of going 802.11n could shush the anti-802.11n group at the IEEE. After all, Dell is the biggest seller of PC in the world. Although it isn’t the rainmaker, it has enough power to buy the rainmaker.
