Colorado sheriffs are nice. And a bit geeky too. According to 9News, via Slashdot, “the Sheriff’s Department says it’s going to start warning computer users that their networks may be vulnerable to hackers. It may be one of the first law enforcement agencies in the country to do so.”

“It may be one of the first law enforcement agencies in the country to do so.” The move may be caused by a recent controversy on a man arrested for freeloading on a coffee shop’s free WiFi from their parking lot.

Sheriffs could use this good old WiFi sniper rifle. A very unique device designed by and for S21sec, a security company. Pure hypothesis, of course.
