Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd is an Asian device maker. And it has secured a hot and juicy contract: 12 million mobile handsets — from Apple.
Hon Hai Precision, whose customers include Apple, Cisco, Dell, Nokia, and Sony, has received the order, according to the Commercial Times, a Taiwan media report.
iPhone design still is kept secret, as secret as the Holy Grail place, but this order could be considered a mere confirmation that Apple will go mobile, beyond the WiFi and IP telephony expectations. Forbes believes the phone to be launched in the first half of the year.
Will Steve Jobs come to the MacWorld conference in January with one of those iPhones, that’s the question. If he does, he will detail Apple’s scenario on the iPhone. So far, analysts saw four of them.
