Apple is preparing to launch iPhone. It was Johnny Chan, a Hong Kong based J.P. Morgan analyst, who killed the rumor. He’s the first to pronounce this set of words: “Apple”, “iPhone”, “Fourth quarter 2006″, “Apple is seeking a electronics manufacturer.” That’s enough to reformulate as: Apple is on the verge to launch its next iPod with phone features, including VoIP. Add to this, two Taiwanese manufacturers, Hon Hai and Green Point Enterprises ― the former was involved in the making of the iPod nano, the later current manufactures iPod plastic cases ― confirmed to be in discussion with Apple for a phone, still according Mr. Chan.
Last week, Piper Jaffary analyst Gene Munster already spotted some movement form Apple by telling that there was a 75% chance that Apple would release an iPhone in the next 12 months. But this wasn’t that precise as he was speculating on how much Motorola would loose if Apple decided to introduce its VoIP phone. iLounge also reports that Apple will benefit from the new Intel-based Mac’s.
This is of course a bit too earlier to speculate on the launching price of the VoIP iPod. But since it’s quite easy to do it, several fake VoIP iPod circulate on the Web, each trying to anticipate the next real design. The current photo is also a fake.

Update, March 28, 2006 ― Taiwan’s BenQ revealed (on purpose?) some more details on Apple plans. iPhone is “definitively coming”, comment a BenQ staffer in a Smarthouse.com.au forum. He also explained that BenQ would not partner Apple because of the rivalry between the two multimedia device manufacturer.

Guys, here’s another rumor: Apple might have ordered some 12 million iPhones to its usual iPod manufacturer, based in Hong-Kong and which is also a cellphone maker. We covered it here.

Christy: Rumors say it could have a camera. A 2 megapixel camera to be more accurate. But the Cingular SIM card, it’s depending on the scenario Apple would follow. Currently, they are 4 possible ones. We invite you to check them here. We guess Apple would try to go mobile by closing some deals with mobile operators but before doing this, they would make their phone available to any mobile operators. So it might be compatible with Cingular SIM cards. But it’s a speculation only.

Derick: It’s coming out some times in early 2007. No estimation of its price has been made yet. For its features, it’s still quite impossible to foretell. About Cingular, I don’t think so. And if you want to get more info, you could stick with us. As we post new elements as soon as we get them.

If you are interested, check out www.youtube.com and search for apple iphone, look for the video that features the creator of “digg.com” He gives some info about the phone, like it having 2 batteris — 1 for mp3 playback, and another for actual cell phone use. he says it will have a fold out keyboard. he also says there will be 2 versions — i think 4 and 8 GB versions, at 250 and 450 USD, respective.
I’m not affiliated with any of that and it’s all rumors up to this point if you ask me, im not official source… but he also says it’s to be released in january of 07…. just one month!

We listened to it. Although he might tell the right design, his description seemed quite close to the rumors — We reported many of them and speculate on them, just like when we learned there on their way, and that they might be made of zirconia, a special breed of ceramics that can send wireless signals while protecting electronic parts. The question still in the air is what the iPhone will be able to do. Its features are now the center of speculations.

Dude, stop asking questions like how much is it and when is coming out, and if it’s going to a specific country, no one here has all this answers we don’t even know if they will release it and even if the picture is real or just another fake image. as soon apple says something about it at least the specs then you can start asking questions.

Before the iPhone even hits the market, it is already mired in controversy. Its launch date in Canada is scheduled for at least a year away while in the United States it is scheduled to be released in four months.
Many people have found kinks in the technology including the high price, locked in battery, copyrights, memory card size and digital copyrights.
Many detractors say that Apple, the manufacturer of the iPhone, will have many hard lessons to learn dealing with various cellular networks. It may be beneficial for Canada to have to wait to obtain this for up to a year because many of the wrinkles may have been ironed out by then.
Apple is planning to unveil the iPhone in June in the States and in Europe later this year. Asia is slated for its release next with Canada expected to obtain this in late 2007 or early in the year 2008.
The main problems facing this new wireless device are legal issues including whether or not it will be approved buy the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, the name itself since Cicso claims the name since a 2000 trademark.
When it is unveiled in Canada, it may face the same as Comwave Telecom because they have also been using this name and Nortel could also launch legal action as it features a similar product already in effect.
Furthermore, many other similar devices are in the works from various major companies including Nokia, Sony, Rim and Kyocera Wireless.
IPod could suffer adversely because the iPhone incorporates the IPod as one of its many features.
Canadians anxious to obtain this as soon as possible could cross the border to buy it and bring it home but would face many challenges to get it to work in this country. The user would have to unlock the SIM card and then sign up for a plan with the GSM system, the only system compatible with the iPhone.
