AOL about to sell its French division

Big news ― AOL France is about to be sold to Neuf Cegetel. How much? €300 million ($383 million). Mothership AOL USA confirmed the exclusive talks between the two ISPs, said Reuters.

Neuf Cegetel, already the second largest ISP in France, would increase its user base by 600,000 customers and see its market share raise to 17.5% from 13%.

Reported earlier, the other AOL Europe subsidiaries sell out. Across the English Channel, AOL UK could be sold to BSkyB, Orange, Carphone Warehouse. Across the Rhine, the shortlist of possible buyer of AOL Germany is: Versatel, Freenet.de, United Internet, Telecom Italia ― which is about to miss the AOL France case.
