Lacking security could not only put consumer data at risk, but also leads you to trouble with the America Federal Communications Commission. The FCC proposed a $100,000 fine against Amp’d Mobile, a rival of Helio and Boost Mobile and a provider of 3G services to the youth market segment.

Amp’d Mobile is the third mobile operator to face such a fine, says the LA Times. Easterbrooke Cellular Corp. received the bill letter for not keeping written records for the last five years guaranteeing its customer records were protected.
