For the RIAA, a new nightmare adds to its current nightmare. Music sharing is emerging on cellphones. A survey made in the UK found almost a third of teens shared music via their mobiles. Those teens aren’t that tech-savvy, they’re just swapping tunes via the Bluetooth wireless feature of their handset.

What about the others? 45% of children unaware of the trick said they would like to.

Other figures shows that more than one in four children in the UK under 10 years old already have a mobile phone. And that by 2007 the average age someone will receive their first mobile phone will just be eight in Europe, according to the Wireless World Forum Youth Report 2005.

And even if Bluetooth becomes ‘DRM-ed’, the next generation of mobile phones, able to connect to WiFi hotspots, would also be able to launch Skype with file sending option, Gizmo Project and its built-in sound recorder features. Currently, there are over 2.5 billion cellphones in activity across the world.
